Ueno Park, Tokyo

t seems like i have completely disappeared for the last week. But i haven't cos i was in the Land of Rising Sun, Japan! Just in time to catch the full bloom of cherry blossoms.

Bella and i took a flight to Narita airport and came back from Kansai Osaka. We hopped from Tokyo, to Hakone, Kyoto, then Himeji and Kobe from Osaka in 8days. Mad rush yes but wheeeeeeeee what an experience i loved it! I lost track of the number of times we got ourselves lost and almost frost bitten but the Japanese have a high tolerance for foreigners, in general. With my limited knowledge of their language we almost could hand-gesture our way out of everything. As long as you are thick-skinned enough to ask, they will be too friendly and helpful (or hypocritical) to turn you down.

First stop: Ueno park in Tokyo.

Cold and windy despite the bright sun. Not to mention crowded.

Happy picnic! A typical group activity for a day out to admire the sakura bloom.

A different variety of Sakura from the above ones... this was extra pink like chinese new year greeting cards.

A temple in the park.

 Blessing myself with luck.

Many food stalls!! Ahhhhh we were super excited.........

Scooping gold fish with a paper net! An old pastime i often see in comic books.

Check out uncle's DIY drums....

As you can see many trees have yet to reach full bloom.

These cherry blossoms in full bloom look like fluffy clouds above our heads along the walkway :)

Finally, an obligatory  picture of my chashu ramen.

At this point of time in Ueno Park most trees have not reached full bloom yet. But wait till you see the Kyoto picturesssssss :D

Judging by the long post solely on Ueno park, you can imagine the obscene truckload of photos i must have taken throughout my whole trip. Hohoho.... Hopefully i'll have the stamina to upload (and edit!!!!) all of the rest.

Happy hanami!
